On July 27, the Saint Joseph Society, a charitable organization based in Boston’s North End, put on the Historic Unity Celebration. This event was intended to pay homage to the cultures and traditions of the many ethnic groups that have immigrated through Boston’s North End and are now such a strong part of the Boston community.
Although Boston’s largest present-day Chinese population resides in Chinatown, many Chinese entered Boston via the North End. The program featured multiple Chinese dance and musical performances, including a guest dance appearance by one of Shanghai’s most acclaimed dancers!
