This year the North End/Waterfront will celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the Saint Anthony Feast. Since the Feast’s inception in 1919 the event has been a staple of the community celebrating the transition from summer to fall. The Saint Anthony’s Feast in Boston is the largest Italian Religious Festival in New England. Visitors will be able to stroll the decorated streets of the North End taking in local culture as well as enjoying food from the many stands located along the streets. The highlight of the Feast is the ten hour procession of the Statue of Saint Anthony through the neighborhood. There will be a variety of other events happening throughout the weekend including: cooking demonstrations, food samplings, as well as an open air Mass in honor of Saint Anthony. This is an event that all residents of the North End and Waterfront communities should not miss. The Feast starts on Friday August 26th and runs through Sunday August 28th, rain or shine!Saint Anthony Feast to be celebrated in the North End Waterfront of Boston, MA

EVENT HISTORY:

The Taste of the North End was founded by North End restaurant owners, Donato and Nancy Frattaroli, in 1993 as a benefit for Casa Monte Cassino, a place to stay for impoverished families from around the world while their children receive serious medical attention in Boston.

Over the next few weeks, as the Frattarolis developed the idea for the Taste of the North End to raise funds to help Casa Monte Cassino provide its invaluable services.  Since then, the Taste of the North End has raised over $450,000 for Casa Monte Cassino and other local North End charities!
