Chef Jody Adams on the Boston Waterfront. Photo by Michael Diskin. This is just one more sign that Boston’s waterfront is becoming the city’s center of  sophistication and fun.  Celebrity Chef Jody Adam’s, well known for Rialto, a top rated restaurant in Cambridge that has earned praise from Gourmet as well as Food and Wine magazines, will soon be opening “Trade at Atlantic Wharf.”  The restaurant will feature modern Mediterranean cuisine inspired by Spanish, Italian, and Greek styles.  Some of the known menu items include grilled bluefish, roast chicken marinated in lemon, slow-cooked stuffed pork and braised beef short ribs priced from $23 to $30.

Jody Adams has been in the game for decades, and continues to impress the culinary and restauranteuring world today.  A renowned chef, author, world traveler, and Top Chef Masters contestant, Adams seems to do everything relating to food.  “Trade at Atlantic Wharf” is sure to be one of Boston’s next hot new restaurant destination!

Hazmat Truck Re-Routing Proposal

Filed under: Boston Waterfront Luxury Buildings, North End Boston, North End Luxury Condos, North End Waterfront Condos, Waterfront Boston. • Tags: , . By

Driving through Boston can be a tricky business – especially if you’re driving a truck carrying hazardous material. The fiery truck accident on Route 1 in Saugus in July made many people much more aware of the potential threat of a hazardous material truck accident in the city of Boston.

Hazmat Truck Accident in Saugus MA

Hazmat Truck Explosion on Route 1 in Saugus

Currently streets going through the North End – including Atlantic Ave., Commercial St., Cross St. and North Washington St. – experience 100+ hazmat trucks each day. The consequences of an accident as bad as the hazmat truck explosion in July would be disastrous in the city of Boston. Many concerned residents of the North End and Waterfront District attended the public hearing held at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s headquarters last week to voice their opinions regarding the re-routing of pass-through trucks from Boston streets to highways outside the city such as Route 128. Based upon the 182-page public safety analysis conducted by an independent, Ohio-based research company it has been strongly recommended that the trucks be re-routed to highways outside of the city. While the majority of city officials, including Mayor Menino, support the proposed re-routing of these pass-through hazmat trucks there is opposition from the trucking companies as a result of the increased time and cost that this re-routing would cause.

If you’re living in a North End apartment you should vote to have these trucks re-routed to highways outside of the city. In the upcoming weeks similar public hearings will be held in suburbs such as Quincy, Waltham and Stoneham. Additionally, residents and businesses can comment on the proposal via email at bostonhazmat@state.ma.us until September 23rd. To read the full article about the hazmat truck re-routing click here.

A $3 billion development in Boston’s Seaport District is the latest and largest addition to Boston’s Innovation District.  The 6.3 Seaport Square DevelopmentMillion square foot Seaport Square Development project will be Boston’s largest development in history and hopes to keep Boston at the forefront of the innovation economy.  The 23-acre mixed-use sustainable neighborhood consisting of residential, retail, office, hotel, innovation, civic and cultural uses will be sure to enhance the South Boston Waterfront.  Several new parks, plazas and pedestrian ways will also be created as part of the project.

The project’s residential component includes the development of 2,500 for sale and rental homes, including 325 affordable housing residences and 325 innovative workforce housing residences.  The workforce housing residences are intended for people whose income is too high to qualify for affordable housing residences but are often priced out of the housing market.  The project is expected to create approximately 10,000 construction jobs and approximately 20,000 full-time jobs.  For more information regarding this development project please contact Christopher Smith.

It’s a Dog’s Life…

Boston is not only filled with universities and students, hospitals and doctors, it is filled with dogs and their humans.  Each week I receive at least one inquiry for a sale or rental of a pet friendly property.  No longer just a suburban pet, the urban dog is welcome in many places – in certain outdoor patio dining, in private dog parks, and in some designated areas of public places.  The services for these pets are innumerable – dog boutiques for accessories and natural food items; doggie day care with transportation; daily walks; overnight vacation services, and in home veterinary calls.

Many condominium buildings along Boston’s Waterfront are pet friendly.  As a lover of dogs, I do everything in my power to find a home for my wonderful canine residents and their people.

Here is a current list of some of the pet friendly buildings in the Waterfront:

Intercontinental: Owners and TenantsBoston Dog Park

Rowes Wharf: Owners only with Management approval

Harbor Towers: Owners only

Commercial Wharf: Owners and Tenants

Lewis Wharf: No Dogs

Mariner: Owners and Tenants

Bulfinch: Owners and Tenants

Union Wharf: Owners only

Burroughs Wharf Condo in Boston Homes

Filed under: Boston Waterfront Condos, Boston Waterfront Luxury Buildings, Burroughs Wharf, CL Waterfront Properties NEWS, Featured For Sale, Luxury Real Estate, Waterfront Boston. • Tags: , . By

Beautiful luxury Boston condo on the Burroughs Wharf waterfrontBoston Homes recently featured one of the luxury condominiums at Burroughs Wharf. No. 311 has been listed for $2.699 million and it’s no mystery why. The property offers an array of wonderful features.

The north end of the building juts into the harbor and is considered the “nose.” The best views can be seen from this part of the building and of course No. 311 is one of these coveted condos. The floor to ceiling windows offer picturesque views of the water. On a typical day you can watch ferries, sailboats, watertaxies, and tug boats glide by from your couch.

Additionally this condo features two balconies which also overlook the harbor – perfect for relaxing on a summer afternoon. But this space isn’t only great during the summer. In the winter, the beautiful light oak floors visually warm the entire space and a wood-burning fireplace in the living room provides a cozy escape from those chilly Boston winters.

Another benefit of living in this fabulous building right on the water is the fact that it comes with two mooring slips. If you’re an avid sailor and are searching for the perfect Boston waterfront real estate, Burroughs Wharf No. 311 could be the place for you! Carmela Laurella, President of CL Waterfront Properties recently assisted a Boston Waterfront property owner with the sale of her home after she and her husband were dissatisfied with the original agency they signed with.  CL Waterfront was pleased to have received the following testimonial about our service:

“Carmela recently helped us sell our beautiful waterfront property in Boston.  We first signed up with another agency, but no serious offers, so after three months, we signed with Carmela.  What a difference!

She immediately found a lovely couple who wanted to buy the unit but needed to sell their home in CA.  Since it was the worst part of the recession and winter was beginning in Boston, we agreed thinking a sale was not likely for the condo.

When they were not able to buy it, Carmela put it back on the market and it sold within 2 weeks at 98% of the asking price.  She was able to generate numerous showings.  I think she is the ultimate professional.  I could not offer a higher recommendation for Carmela at CL Waterfront Properties.  She is the best.”
