This year the North End/Waterfront will celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the Saint Anthony Feast. Since the Feast’s inception in 1919 the event has been a staple of the community celebrating the transition from summer to fall. The Saint Anthony’s Feast in Boston is the largest Italian Religious Festival in New England. Visitors will be able to stroll the decorated streets of the North End taking in local culture as well as enjoying food from the many stands located along the streets. The highlight of the Feast is the ten hour procession of the Statue of Saint Anthony through the neighborhood. There will be a variety of other events happening throughout the weekend including: cooking demonstrations, food samplings, as well as an open air Mass in honor of Saint Anthony. This is an event that all residents of the North End and Waterfront communities should not miss. The Feast starts on Friday August 26th and runs through Sunday August 28th, rain or shine!
