Last week the Fairmont Battery Wharf hosted a sneak peek of the upcoming Magenta Foundation’s 2011 Flash Forward Festival that will be coming to Boston from June 2-5, 2011.
The 4-day Flash Forward Festival will be showcasing emerging photography talent from the US, the UK, and Canada. The festival will also be taking place at the Fairmont Battery Wharf, and will be open to the public. There will be free exhibitions, lectures, panel discussions, public art installations, and special receptions.
Flash Forward Festival Boston is an extension of The Magenta Foundation’s very successful emerging photographer’s competition, Flash Forward, and its sister event, Flash Forward Festival Toronto. The Magenta Foundation is Canada’s pioneering non-profit arts publishing house, and was created to organize promotional opportunities for Canadian artists in the international arts community through traveling exhibitions and publications.
Flash Forward Festival Boston is described on the website for the event as,
“a highly focused, highly curated, experience-oriented, four-day festival that will include exhibitions, public art installations, curator-led talks, studio tours, an art fair, VIP experiences, art openings, and events designed to appeal to both professional artists and the general public.”
